Christmas is coming, but not santa.

'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the skies
Air defenses were up, with electronic eyes.
Combat pilots were nestled in ready-room beds
As enemy silhouettes danced in their heads.

Every jet on the apron, each SAM in its tube
Was triply-redundant linked to the Blue Cube,
And ElInt and AWACS gave coverage so dense
That nothing that flew could slip through our defense.

When out of the klaxon arose such a clatter
I turned to the screen to see what was the matter;
I dialed up the gain and then quick as a flash
Fine-adjusted the filters to damp out the hash.

And there found the source of the warning we'd heeded:
An incoming blip, by eight escorts preceded.
"Alert status red!" went the word down the wire,
As we gave every system the codes that meant "FIRE"!

On Aegis! Up Patriot, Phalanx and Hawk!
And scramble our fighters let's send the whole flock!
Launch decoys and missiles! Use chaff by the yard!
Get the kitchen sink up! Call the National Guard!

They turned toward the target, moved toward it, converged.
Then the tracks on the radar all finally merged,
And the sky was lit up with a demonic light
As the foe met his fate in the high arctic night.

So we sent out some recon to look for debris,
Yet all that they found, both on land and on sea
Were some toys, a red hat, a charred left leather boot,
Broken sleighbells, white hair, and a deer's parachute.

Now it isn't quite Christmas, with Saint Nick shot down.
There are unhappy kids in each village and town.
For the Spirit of Christmas can't hope to evade
All the web of defenses we've carefully made.

For look how the gadgets we use to protect us
In other ways alter, transform and affect us.
They keep us from things that make life more worth living
Like love for each other, and thoughts of just giving.

But a crash program's on: Working hard, night and day,
All the elves are constructing a radar-proof sleigh.
So let's wait for next Christmas, in cheer and in health,
For the future has hope: Santa's coming by stealth!

--------------- Update -----------------

Yesterday our family went to see Philip sing in hi choir event. I don't exactly know what it was called, but we had to be coat checkers to get into the event free. This I really didn't mind, it wasn't that hard and besides that we (me and Benjamin) got tipped by most of the people. That was pretty nice since I thought we were only "volunteering" and even remarked to Benjamin before we went that they should be paying us for how much the tickets costed (almost $20 each ticket). Anyway, it was a good show, all the choirs sounded really good. But, even then I told Benjamin; "put our choir up there (meaning our homeschool choir; "the show choir" ) and we'd blow the socks off all of them." I was somewhat kidding, but our choir does have the advantage of having a base section (I'm in that part, and we're only the best in our choir! :D ). Anyway, the Young Voices choirs really did well, unfortunatly they were deprived of having any base sections except when the alumni choir joined in, which wasn't a problem, except that I happen to really like that.
We went to wendys afterwards with our family. It was a good thing too since I hadn't had dinner and it was nearly 8:30.
Well, today we're going to see Chandler's sister get married, and right now the house is empty, so I'm really wondering where my Mom took Sarah and Philip.. anyway,

Narnia Thoughts

Well, this movie is really a winner. The graphics and music,
lemme tell ya. Makes me cry.
At first I had concerns whether they were going to do the talking animals right, but I was really impressed the way the expressions, mouth movments, and body movements were made believable in the movie. Not to mention the expressive and beautiful expressions and great voice of Aslan the lion.
There were a few things I wish they had stuck with the book on. But all in all they didn't mess up the plot too badly. A few parts were not as impressive as I would have hoped for, Peter's fighting and the queen's power weren't quite as powerful and astounding as I thought they would be.
I'd give this movie 4 stars out of five and definitly a must see.

Quote

I found such a good quote that instead of it going at the end of a post, I'm posting it as the highlight of this post.
It's really a good one:

Update and stuff

Update?

Well this week I've been with our youth group almost every other day. First we had Sunday school and sunday night youth group meeting. Then on Monday most of us went to the Operation Christmas Child event. Next, on Thursday most of us were again at AWANA helping out as leaders. And finally, the youth Christmas party and caroling event last night.
Anyway, that was all quite fun. Today, after sleeping in till 11:30 I went and finished my Christmas shopping with Benjamin and got something for the munchkins. :D

well thats all for now.(and tomorrow I see the youth group again twice.)

Here's a little break from the stuff I usually post.
Some stuff to take your mind off whatever your doing (even if your supposed to be concentrating.

I've been thinking of putting a link to a guest book for The Electric Typerwriter. Post what you might think of this. If you really want to, you could make me one and host it Chandler. But I can use bravenet just as easily.

The Sat and Christmas

Ok, So here's all the stuff I did
in the last two days.

So last saturday I woke up to go take the SAT...
AT 6:30!! then we got there a half an hour early, so I had to stand around for a half an hour waiting. I finally got to take the test. There were quite a bit of people there. They put us into two different rooms depending on what our last names were and we took the test, taking the next five hours or so of my life answering dumb questions and fixing sentances. We got two five minute breaks and one one minute break. So after I went to get my brain removed. I went with my mom to clean the church for an hour which we couldn't finish becuase the other church came to have their service (we also share the building with a korean church, on sundays, and a russian church, on saturdays). Then I came home for about a half of an hour.although I couldn't be sure becuase my brain is now warped beyond repair from the merciless wrenching of information from it) Then I went to the Christmas program our homeschool group puts on and sang for people in the "Show Choir". That was pretty fun. We sang two songs, "sleigh ride" and "little drummer boy".

Yesterday our church had potluck, so after sunday school and choir practice we had a scrumptious lucullan potluck. Afterwards Max's parents somehow decided that max would be coming to our house for some reason, even though we weren't planning on going home that day (we were planning on staying at church till youth group that night). So we completely filled the church's van with everyone we had to take home that my dad had already picked up, plus Max, Sergey, and their cousin. After at least an hour, we got home. and immediatly left, leaving them to be picked up by their parents. After a good night of toilet paper dodge ball and practicing for Christmas caroling with the youth group, my dad finds out that there is a guy that we dropped off at somone else's house that needs a ride to his house. So, we take a one hour-45 minute detour and take him home and finally get home at about ten.

Today I'll be helping out at the "Operation Christmas Child" unpacking boxes and repacking to make sure the silly uneducated people didn't pack any thing dumb like guns, razors, spillable items, or any chocolate.

*sigh* life in the city....
Oh well, it's not all bad. I don't mind being really busy too much. At least I'm not bored (as I type this I'm thinking to myself; "I wish I had time to be bored!")

Till next post.

What is this? An update?!

Ok, so this weekend I'll be taking the SAT so I'm spending all week studying up for it.
I have finally decided (pretty much anyway) what college I'm going to. I'll probably be going to Master's college. Now before you ask what I know is on the tip of your tongue. No.
I haven't decided my major yet. I have an idea, but I'm not completely sure yet. When I am I'll post something or maybe put up a giant banner visible from space or something.

As for today, just school. I get to substitute for my piano teacher tonight though. That's kind of cool. I can use the extra money. Oh, and since I know your all wondering.
I am taking donations towards a laptop for college. And tuition :)

so, till next post.

Thanksgiving

For thanksgiving this year we had school off for one day before and one day after thanksgiving (besides thanksgiving and saturday/sunday). So on thanksgiving we went to my grandma's house and ate there. then watched the Broncos beat the Cowboys by a smidgion. Then we rented and watched Herbie Reloaded. It was cheesy, of course, just like all the other movies but still kind of funny and nice (like the other ones). This newer movie had a few things that shouldn't have been in it, as usual, like the girl completely lying and disobeying her dad. Although I expected it from something made these days.
Anyway, this really was quite a delightful and relaxing holiday week where I stayed up till at least 2:00 (almost three last night) every night and got to sleep in!

Well thats all for now

November 17th

Well, two days ago I faxed my application to Master's College.
Hope they like it!

I can't think of anything else thats happening, but today I'll be teaching piano, taking piano lesson, and helping at awana. Then tomorrow me and Benjamin are debating again. Oh what fun! We will probably be the negative side this time, so that'll be fun.

Don't have much to write this time, so here's a joke for y'all.

A mother wanted to teach her daughter a moral lesson. She gave the little girl a quarter and a dollar for church. "Put whichever one you want in the collection plate and keep the other for yourself," she told the girl.

Sunday, when they were coming out of the church, the mother asked her daughter which amount she had given.

"Well," said the little girl, "I was going to give the dollar, but just before the collection the preacher said that God loves a cheerful giver. I knew I'd be a lot more cheerful if I gave the quarter, so I did."

Wycliff dinner

So, I just got back from a little dinner at a hotel hosted by Wycliff Bible translators. It was pretty cool. Sebastian was there too with his parents. We sat at a different table. They had good coffee. Anyway, it sounded really neat, and is getting me thinking about going into Bible translating. Just a thought, but it definitly sounds like something really cool to do, something I would enjoy doing.
Just a thought though. Anyway, thats about all. I really need to get working on debate stuff more. I'm probably going to quit speech after we finish the humourus interpretive speeches (i'm really looking forward to those) so I can put more hours into debate research, and building a case.

That reminds me, I have some speech homework to do. Hmmmm, which to do first speech or debate, speech or debate.
Help me decide!

The World of Disiance

The World of Disiance

This weekend I went with my youth group to an overnight event called turkey twilight. I have taken the liberty of linking to Chandler's blog since he already wrote pretty much everything that we/I did there.

Click the link above ^^ to go to the post. If you don't read it the rest of this post won't make much sense.

The first few games I tried to be competitave, but never actually won any games, even though I got pretty close.
The last few games me and max would go crazy bowling where we would try out of many different methods, "granny bowling" where we take the bowling ball with two hands and bowl it either directly in front of us or underneath the legs. That was really fun. Especially becuase I could do somewhat well that way too.

(couldn't find a good quote so I got a short joke)
A couple was arranging for their wedding, and asked the bakery to inscribe the wedding cake with "1 John 4:18" which reads "There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear."

The bakery evidently lost, smudged or otherwise misread the noted reference, and beautifully inscribed on the cake "John 4:18":

"For you have had five husbands, and the man you have now is not your husband."

November 7th

Well, Yesterday was my birthday. I was pleasantly suprised by a breakfast in bed and a giant king size candy bar.
Later that morning I went with my dad to Home Depot, Then I was taken to Bojou's (sp?) Pizza with him. I had forgotten how good their pizza was. After that we went to Office Max and just looked around and talked for a good long time that was really fun, then we went to walmart and my dad bought my gifts. He said that its just a whole lot easier if I pick out my gifts myself, and he said it is the same with him becuase he likes a certain kind or whatnot.
Then we came home and had cake and my grandparents were over. Then I opened gifts and got a Starbucks gift card, headphones, a pocket digital radio, oh and i got two very nice cards from Sarah and Philip. Philip also got me a Sobe. It was a great day. Well now I'm 18 and they can draft me lol. Doesn't feel much different.
Oh well. And in case you're wondering, NO I did not buy any cigars or lottery tickets.

Today and Yesterday

Well I'll start with (eeny meeny miney moe) yesterday's activities and then tell about today's.
Yesterday I had piano lessons as usual. Then at the end alexis, my piano teachers' dog, puked right in front of us. It smelled really bad. Then I worked on the teaching schedules entering new clients and lesson times and such. Couldn't figure out how chandler printed it the way it was laid out on the old schedule, and I had to go start teaching anyway so Chandler went and printed it while somone else took over his teaching during their lesson. I assume Mary Ann made up for stacey's lesson. That's who finished teaching the person Chandler was teaching at that moment.
So that was pretty interesting.
Then I had to give an eight extra "makeup" minutes for my first student becuase we started late two weeks ago. That worked out ok, except I had to make the other lessons go two minutes late since he didn't come eight minutes early. Then Ryan came (another student of mine, who happens to be my most "hyper" student). Lucky for me I think last night was probably his most cooperative lesson so far.
After all that, I went and helped out at awana. That went pretty well. The kids were pretty good (at least on green team).

Today
Today my family went to our friday classes. I went to choir where we had to sing a song without music. And it wasn't a song where we had ever seen music for, so that was pretty hard. Then we got to do my favorite song though, that was fun. We also had speech, where we are working on interperative speeches. I say we because Benjamin is in speech and debate. Then we went to debate and that was good. Our debate teacher didn't come till quite a bit later so some of us started early. Two of the girls in the class started debating and I was time keeper. Unfortunatly (for the debate round we had started) one of the moms came and had us start doing book work and broke up our debating practice. And we did that till our teacher came.
We are having the mow kids over here for the weekend. So pray for my sanity.

Thats about all. Oh, yes and tomorrow me and Benjamin are going to Chandler's house for Benjamin to build his computer.

Till next post.

Today's events

Well, It's only 10:15 and today has already been quite eventful.
First, my dad finally decided that after eighteen years of maturing I am finally allowed to have headphones. So, in case anyone was planning on getting that mp3 cube for my birthday, don't bother.
Because I decided to buy it :D.
Anyway, a little while after finding that out, we found out that our family barber (more like me and my dad's barber) is quitting for some reason, which really stinks. If I show up in church on sunday with a weird looking haircut that's the reason.

As for future possible events and such. I still haven't figured out what to do for my birthday. I think my brain is stuck in neutral. The next three weekends are pretty much full for me unfortunatly so I guess I have more time to think about it than I did before since my birthday is next week, I'll have a couple more weeks. Anyway, life moves on (unfortunatly sometimes this is not a good thing).
In my opinion it could just slow down a few notches so I'd have more time to do better homework and maybe even write another post for A Sad Tale. Oh well, all wishful thinking unfortunatly (I think I just exeeded the unfortunatly word limit for this post).

Well, more updatieness later.

[Cybersalt Digest] November 1

This is from a joke list I get, I thought this was pretty good since it happens a lot to me, but I probably do it too sometimes.

A man pacing back and forth glanced at his watch and yelled upstairs to his wife, "Honey, are you ready yet? We're going to be late for the costume party."

Shouting back, the woman replies, "For crying out loud, Ed, I've been telling you for the last half hour that I'll be ready in a minute!"

Another week, Another update

Update

Ok, well don't take that title wrong. I'm definitly not saying i update every week, but it sounds good, right?

Anyway, this week was pretty good I got to teach three extra students therefore doubling my pay. And that was really nice.
Today was really a great day, I finally gave my informative speech on traffic lights that I had been putting off for a long while. And besides that me and Benjamin got to debate Jennie and Bethany (Another debate team in the class) in debate class. We did pretty good I thought, it was really fun. Benjamin didn't do so well, but that was becuase he had two people trying to help him at the same time and they were only confusing him, as well as the fact that, that was the first speech that he has ever given and it wasen't even prewritten (you have to write the speech in a few minutes refuting what the other team said).
So, in reality he didn't do too bad (Oh and this is his first year, whearas eveyone else in that debate had been in debate at least one year). Anyway, today was a pretty good day.

Lately I've been trying to figure out what to do for my 18th birthday coming up. If anyone has any ideas please leave a comment.
Otherwise, leave a comment anyway.

Here

Well I'm here at masters for their view weekend, I met Mark over in the evil accounting department, that was cool. So far I've gotten to visit three different classes, so thats cool. I visited; Old testament survey, US constitutional law, and Intro to linguistics. I'd have to say the most interesting class out of all those was the linguistics class, mainly because of the teacher (he was really funny) but also because (to me at leas) linguistics are pretty interesting. Anyway as for what I think overall of the college (HAHA! I spelled it right, take that), I am really impressed with the college overall. They have amazingly nice facilities, the dorms are really pretty nice, and as for the campwide wi-fi access, that is definitly a really nice pro if I decide to come here. So anyway I have to go to a meeting about financing, loans, and scholarships. So I need to wrap this up, more later. Post your comments and qustions ( HAHA! i spelt that wrong on purpose!) and I will post again to answer any qustions about whatever (if you have any).

What's going on?

Well I found this pretty cool game that Chandler showed me. It's an investing game where you buy and trade stocks, but it isn't real money. So thats cool, unfortunatly it won't let me trade anything. So that part stinks but I also found a game where you trade in the foriegn exchange. And I've made some money with that (fake of course). Anyway, if you want a link for either of those games just post a comment and I'll e-mail or post the link for it.

Ok, so here's the scoop on what I'm doing this weekend. Actually for about a week, I'm going to be in LA visiting Master's college. I'll also be visiting some friends for the weekend, so thats going to extend my stay and make it about a week, even though the event at the college is going to be only a few days, that and driving time. Anyway, pray that I figure out what college to go to in a few days. I say that "tongue in cheek" but really mean it (not quite as literally).
Anyway, when i go missing in a coupel of hours thats where I'll be.

Changes

Well I never thought I'd see the day.

In the last couple of years I've thought about how great it would be when I was in collage and I can't wait to live in a dorm and such.
It's so strange that as i draw nearer and nearer to the point in my life where I will most likely leave my friends and family and home for a collage , most probably in another state. I realize more and more how much I'm going to miss my home,
my parents, my friends, my cat!, and of all things,
What am I gonna do without my younger siblings?!
What an absurd thought!
No, I realize I should love my siblings, and I do. The thing is that, I always thought I would sure be able to put up with not having to deal with them every day.
Anyway, pray for me as I make the decision whether to go to this collage or that. I really wish God would just (as I said in a conversation with Tony) send me an E-mail with the name of the collage and date I will be applying.
But no, life isn't that easy is it? So, I will continue to wonder what God has planned for me (probably until the last minute, ugh).
Anyway,
Thanks for taking time to see what's going on in my life (head actually)
and, please leave a comment and say a prayer for me, in this most strange and changing time I swim my way through in my life.

Bill of NON-Rights

Here is something i got in an e-mail.
Don't leave yet!
I wouldn't normally post something from an e-mail becuase most of them have been seen way to many times, but I for one haven't seen this before and think that alot of people need to read and realize this.

We hold these truths to be self evident: that a whole lot of people are confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim they require a Bill of NON-Rights."

ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.

ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone -- not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc.; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.

ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful, do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.

ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes.

ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care.

ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.

ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob , cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color TV or a life of leisure

ARTICLE VIII: You do not have the right to a job . All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful.

ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness, which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.

ARTICLE X: This is an English speaking country. We don't care where you are from, English is our language. Learn it or go back to wherever you came from!

& lastly...

ARTICLE XI: You do not have the right to change our country's history or heritage. This country was founded on the belief in one true God. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at all; with no fear of persecution The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is part of our heritage and history, and if you are uncomfortable with it, TOUGH!!!!

If you agree, share this with a friend. No, you don't have to, and nothing tragic will befall you if you don't. I just think it's about time common sense is allowed to flourish. Sensible people of the United States speak out because if you do not, who will?

Vote - it's as American as an American can be!

Gadget may wreak traffic havoc - 10/26/03

What an interesting gadget! I always wondered whether they had something like this.
-------

Here's a great joke

A certain old cat had made his home in the alley behind Gabe's bar for some time, subsisting on scraps and occasional handouts from the bartender. One evening, emboldened by hunger, the feline attempted to follow Gabe through the back door. Regrettably, only the his body had made it through when Gabe slammed the door, severing the cat's tail at its base. This proved too much for the old creature, who looked sadly at Gabe and expired on the spot. Gabe put the carcass back out in the alley and went back to business.

The mandatory closing time arrived and Gabe was in the process of locking up after the last customers had gone. Approaching the back door he was startled to see an apparition of the old cat mournfully holding its severed tail out, silently pleading for Gabe to put the tail back on its corpse so that it could go on to the kitty afterworld complete.

Gabe shook his head sadly and said to the ghost: "I can't. You know the law: I can't retail spirits after 2:00 AM."

Poor cat! :'(

Russian

Well, I don't know how many of you knew this or not (oh and in case you were wondering this is an update)but I am taking a class for russian at a local collage (ACC Arapahoe Community Collage).
So this last monday i went to the first weekly class. It was pretty fun.
My teacher is a very interesting lady. As you would suspect she is from russia originally and was once a part of the communist party. I was kind of suprised, becuase she talked about alot more than just russian. But this was the first class and she was introducing herself alot of it. Besides that it's a two hour class, so I guess that gives her enough time to not have to go to fast anyway. There are six people in the class including me, so it's not a terribly large class. Most of them are adults, the closest to my age seems to be a collage student, who is taking the class becuase he is in the military and might possibly be deployed to Russia.

Well I need to get to school so, more about this later.

Stuff to do when watching Lord of The Rings

1. Stand up halfway through the movie and yell loudly, "Wait! Where is Harry Potter?"

2. Block the entrance to the theater while screaming, "YOU.....SHALL....NOT..... PASS!"

3. Ask everyone around you if they think Gandalf went to Hogwarts.

4. Finish off every one of Elrond's lines with "Mis..ter Ander-sonnn."

5. When Aragorn is crowned king, stand up and at the top of your lungs sing, "And I did it.... MY way!"

6. Talk like Gollum all through the movie. At the end, bite off someone's finger and fall down the stairs.

7. Dress up as old ladies and reenact "The Battle of Helms Deep," Monty Python style.

8. When Denethor lights the fire, shout "Barbecue!"

9. In TTT when the Ents decide to march to war, stand up and shout, "RUN FOREST, RUN!"

10. Every time someone kills an Orc, yell: "That's what I'm Tolkien about!"

11. During a wide shot of a battle, inquire, "Where's Waldo?"

12. Start an Orc sing-a-long.

13. Come to the premiere dressed as Frankenfurter and wander around looking terribly confused.

14. When they go in the paths of the dead, wait for a tense moment and shout, "I see dead people!"

15. Imitate what you think a conversation between Gollum, Dobby and Yoda would be like.

16. Release a jar of daddy-long-legs into the theater during the Shelob scene.

17. Wonder out loud if Aragorn is going to run for governor of California.

18. When Shelob comes on, exclaim, "Man! Charlotte's really let herself go!"

Good Joke

Most the time I don't like posting jokes becuase they aren't origional and my blog is mainly for you to come read things I've written. But becuase of the fact that I really haven't been writing anything for a while (sorry :( *smacks lazy self* ) I decided to post a joke. Besides that I find this one particularly funny.

------

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it absolutely amazing that the U.S government can track a cow born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she sleeps in the state of
Washington, and determine exactly what that cow ate. They can also track her calves right to their stalls, and tell you what kind of feed they ate.

But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around in their country, including people that are trying to blow up important structures in the U.S.

My solution is to give every illegal alien a cow as soon as they enter the country.

This joke was sent to me from the joke-a-day ministries

Here is another picture i took in Breckenridge, Enjoy.

Enjoy this funny joke now
As the coals from our barbecue burned down, our hosts passed out marshmallows and long roasting forks.

Just then, two fire trucks roared by, sirens blaring, lights flashing. They stopped at a house right down the block.

All twelve of us raced out of the back yard, down the street, where we found the owners of the blazing house standing by helplessly.

They glared at us with looks of disgust.

Suddenly, we realized why.........

we were all still holding our roasting forks with marshmallows on them.

Lazy

Yes I know I haven't been blogging nearly enough to keep anyone reading, and for that I'm sorry. I've been pretty busy lately. Between playing phone books and going to breckenridge and such, the only time I do get on the beloved computer I unfortunatly mostly spend it playing morrowind (a computer game i just got).
So here is my apology to all my readers (the few it may be).
I will try to post more often now.

Brekenridge

Yeah, I don't know whether i misspelled it or not, but anyway. Our whole family is going to Brekenridge for the weekend for a wedding for some people I don't even know. How am i going to a wedding where i've never met them before? Well, my dad is a pastor, and he will be preaching the wedding.

The parents of the people getting married are paying for a condo for our whole family to stay in for the whole weekend (which I think is pretty nice). So we'll be there till sunday.

Home from Camp

Update

Well I got home from camp on Saturday with Max, Sergey, and my brother.
Camp was great. I guess I'll talk about the first week first (the first week i was up there i mean), and then get to highschool week.

I was on a-team for the Jr high week and as an a-team member I washed dishes, changed trash and stuff a lot. Wasn't anything very interesting happened. I did ask a girl to the banquet because she was cool and wasn't going to be there next week, but its not like we did anything different since the a-team always sits together anyway lol. But that was pretty cool. We got to play in the surprise hours. I played in all of them even though i was really tired from staying up late most the time.

High school week

High school week was interesting, fun, wacky.
I didn't really like my counselor. As counselors there are three kinds 1)The worst idiots 2)The kind you don't remember next year and 3) The most awesome ones you remember forever!

unfortunately my counsilor fell into a category slightly below 2 to where I'll probably never remember him unless he actually uses that e-mail address i gave him. He was just a little too snobby, and couldn't take any advice, even though he had never been to TPBC before.
This year for highschool week we did some really awesome stuff, like hike old man mountain at night, and we also played capture the flag campwide at night. Me and Max grabbed our flags (personal flags) and ran off to get a good defensive position.
Turns out we grabbed green flags somehow and thought they were orange. So we hid on orange's side being perimeter guards, and then almost got out. After that we went and got the right ones so we were with our cabin again.
This year we stayed in maple grove, it was nice not having to walk to a shower house, but the bathroom is really awful and old in that one. It wasn't so bad but kinda dirty. Anyway, that was only the second time I've stayed in that cabin as a camper (that i can remember)

As for the banquet, I didn't ask anyone to the highschool week banquet, because i didn't really know anyone i wanted to ask, although i was going to ask a friend named Bekah right before we went in since i didn't know who else to go with. Unfortunately i didn't even get to sit with her and faith because i never saw them till we were already seated. But it was ok i guess.
We had ribs, corn, potatoes, and rolls.

Our cabin did a really funny skit where Danny interviewed three people, and then three other people (i was one) did the arms for them separately causing them all to have really funny gestures. Personally I thought our skit was the most funny.

At camp i made a whole lot of friends this year, i think it was the least shy year for me LOL.

and that's about all, oh yes. Our speaker was a guy from Alpha omega institute Dan Korow was his name. He was a really great speaker, unfortunately the missionary for this week was a really awful speaker and as a kid that took one year of speech class, I could even speak better than him. :( and so it really bugged me when he went on about the way they send their newsletter for about 5-8 minutes and then went back to talk about something he already covered. He also stuttered and had a deer-in-the-headlights look most of the time. (which can be really uncomfortable when you're the person he's staring at) Anyway, I thought to myself, if I was this unprepared for public speaking I would have declined the offer to be the missionary of the week, seeing as how you have to speak or do something for an hour a day.

Well there was this one game "battleship assassins" a new game which we played for surprise hour and I think it deserves some mention, since it was such a fun game. We had four teams and each team started by catching waterballoons launched with a waterballoon launcher from a nearby hill. That was the boring part, but then we really got a fun part. Each team had a captain who wore two Alka-Seltzer necklaces and there were buckets of water in the middle which each team's assassins used with little cups to try and get the other team's commanders who just sat on a chair getting wet. I was a guard and I blocked as much water as i could from getting on Nollin (who was our commander).

It was a great week of camp and that just about sums all the haps up.

Hokey Pokey

This is great.

So here is something out of the ordinary for everyone to read and be thrown off. :)

*The Hokey Pokey*
Original Lyrics

Put your left foot in,
Your left foot out,
Your left foot in,
And shake it all about.
You do the hokey pokey
And turn yourself around
That's what it's all about.

*The Hokey Pokey*
Shakespearean Style

O proud left foot, that ventures quick within
Then soon upon a backward journey lithe.
Anon, once more the gesture, then begin:
Command sinistral pedestal to writhe.
Commence thou then the fervid Hokey-Poke.
A mad gyration, hips in wanton swirl.
To spin! A wilde release from heaven's yoke.
Blessed dervish! Surely canst go, girl.
The Hoke, the poke -- banish now thy doubt Verily, I say, 'tis what it's all about.

---(a very short)UPDATE---

Ok so this last week i went to max's house. Played conker's. Got burned (sun). Went swimming. Hung around. And relaxed.

I am now officially a Piano teacher.

Well, today I finally taught piano. And it was really cool! Besides that you make money thats part of the coolness but not all. But besides that it was really fun.

Today I had my weekly piano lesson and i spent it all plus a half an hour that i came early for getting taught how to teach piano.

I ended up staying at the marletto studios (the place i teach and learn piano) from 1:45 to 6:30

After my lesson i taught a part of a lesson for a teacher that was late, and i substituted for two kids whose teacher was gone on vacation. After which I wasted time for about an hour since there was a misunderstanding and my grandpa didn't get there till about a half an hour after he was supposed to. Anyway it was a really good day. I will start teaching my own three students on thursdays next month after camp finishes. I hope it works out well.

Eugene Sings

Today we went to "Eugene Sings" the event at Focus on the Family headquarters in Colorado Springs. It was quite fun. We heard Will Ryan, the guy that does the voice of Eugene Meltsner in the radio show Adventures in Odyssey. He also does the voice of Harlow doyle in the same show. Previously he has done the voices of many other characters including Tigger and Rabbit from pooh, and he also did some characters from The Land Before Time.

I was really suprised because he sounds just like Eugene even when he's not in character. As well as his appearence. I expected someone younger, but thats cool anyway.
I only took three pictures unfortunatly, i wanted to take more but they wouldn't allow pictures during the thing so i only got a picture of him at the end when i had him sign the cd we got. He sang and played the ukelele during the program. It was really cool.

Happy birthday America

Today we got up at 6 am and went fishing for four hours in our boat for the second ride in our boat. We went to bear creek with Sergey. He almost caught a fish but it got away and that was all the excitement we had.

After delivering phone books for about two hours we had dinner and then watched fireworkz,
for the second time. Here are some pictures from the first fireworks we watched on saturday which I'd have to say was a much better display than tonight's.

well i was going to post 3 more pictures of fireworks but blogger.com's picture uploading thing is really buggy and isn't working too well so i'll just leave them pictures for you to see.

till next post.

Humility

Definition- Humility~ the quality or state of being humble.

That's the dictionary definition in the Webster's New Dictionary of the English language. But what is humility, in God's eyes?
God says: "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; Do not merely look out for your own interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although, He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God to be a thing to be grasped, But emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant and being made in the likeness of men. (Philippians 2:3-7)
Originally I was going to only quote the third verse, but Paul explains it so amazingly well and thoroughly that I just had to keep going. What we need to realize is that Paul is talking to people like us! Christians, like us! And we need to apply these God given instructions to our own lives and attitudes. Simply stated, we need to squash the ego and trash the pride. Because this isn't just a suggestion, its God almighty's demanding that we "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself;" (Quoting from V. 3) What does this accomplish? For just a few; further the Christian cause and ultimately God's great plans and his desire for us to grow in his word and teachings (besides that you will be glorifying God by obeying him). And thus allow the potter to form our lives like soft clay. Give into God today! And let him take control, as you follow the commands that He has plainly given us in his own book.

Till next post.

Update 6/28/05

Update 6/28/05

(ok forget the numbering thing)

This weekend I along with my family went with some members of our church on our yearly church-weekend-camping trip to winter

park. We enjoyed a weekend of swimming, fishing, mini golf and volleyball. Yes, they have a pool! We went to the YMCA camp of

the rockies and they had a pool with slide, along with a gym where we played volleyball and you can also skate. They also

have a 18 hole mini golf course. We had alot of rain, but most of it was light and we also had alot of time without rain.
After the church camp our family (minus my mom, becuase of babysitting she had to do) stayed an extra night and went fishing

for four hours the next day, resulting in my cooked-lobster like appearence.

This weekend Sergay helped me learn a very important phrase as well. His phrase of the week being; "It's ok." after merciless

repition is causing me to end up hearing myself saying "it's ok" to many things, immensly improving my outlook on people,

things they do, people I don't particularly like, and helping my attitiude towards things that would normally irritate me.
I thank the Lord for this very small but important attitude adjustment causing a much more christian type attitude, and more

patience in dealing with those that don't always use their heads quite as much as their mouths.

Well thats all till next post. I need to go fix a car now, wish me luck (bleh!)

Update #2

Ok this is probably the fifth post but i decided to start numbering them and i'm not going to go count.

So I got my drivers license today! That was cool, and it was pretty easy except i had to copy a ton of stuff to the standerd drive time log sheets. The actual drive test only took fifteen minutes and the guy that did them was really nice.
Unfortunatly my drivers license remains only a keepsake because my beloved father doesn't want me to drive till he puts me on the Inscurance and wants me to finish my driving program which insists that i have 30 full hours of "classtime". So I'm doomed to remain drivingless (i know it's not a word...
now it is)until i finish 15 hours of class time. So i'm thinking ill fix our white buick's power steering and ask my dad if I can have it to make some classtime.
Till next post,

Things Senator John Glenn said

Quite interesting. You might have seen this, you might have not. I got it on e-mail, but it's pretty good so here you go. Just letting you know I did not write this.

-------SENATOR JOHN GLENN SAID:
Things that make you think a little........

1. There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq during the month of January..... In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the month of January. That's just one American City, about as deadly as the entire war torn country of Iraq.

2. When some claim President Bush shouldn't have started this war, state the following ..

FDR...led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us: Japan did. From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year.

Truman...finished that war and started one in Korea, North Korea never attacked us. >From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,334 per year.

John F. Kennedy. started the Vietnam conflict in
1962. Vietnam never attacked us. Johnson...turned Vietnam into a quagmire. >From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year.

Clinton...went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent, Bosnia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions.

3. In the two years since terrorists attacked us President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people.

The Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking, but...It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51-day operation.

We've been looking for evidence of chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records.

It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick killing a woman.

Wait, there's more.......................

Some people still don't understand why military personnel do what they do for a living. This exchange between Senators John Glenn and Senator Howard Metzenbaum is worth reading. Not only is it a pretty impressive impromptu speech, but it's also a good example of one man's explanation of why men and women in the armed services do what they do for a living. This is a typical, though sad, example of what some who have never served think of our military.

JOHN GLENN ON THE SENATE FLOOR Date: Mon, 26 Jan 2004 11:13

Senator Howard Metzenbaum to Senator Glenn: "How can you run for Senate when you've never held a real job?"

Senator Glenn: "I served 23 years in the United States Marine Corps. I served through two wars. I flew 149 missions. My plane was hit by antiaircraft fire on 12 different occasions. I was in the space program.

It wasn't my checkbook, Howard; it was my life on the line. It was not a nine-to-five job, where I took time off to take the daily cash receipts to the bank. I ask you to go with me ... as I went the other day... to a veteran's hospital and look those men - with their mangled bodies - in the eye, and tell THEM they didn't hold a job! You go with me to the Space Program at NASA and go, as I have gone, to the widows and orphans of Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee... and you look those kids in the eye and tell them that their Dads didn't hold a job.

You go with me on Memorial Day and you stand in Arlington National Cemetery, where I have more friends buried than I'd like to remember, and you watch those waving flags.

You stand there, and you think about this nation, and you tell ME that those people didn't have a job? I'll tell you, Howard Metzenbaum; you should be on your knees every day of your life thanking God that there were some men - SOME MEN - who held REAL jobs. And they required a dedication to a purpose - and a love of country and a dedication to duty that was more important than life itself. And their self-sacrifice is what made this country possible.

I HAVE held a job, Howard! What about you?"

For those who don't remember - During W.W.II, Howard Metzenbaum was an attorney representing the Communist Party in the USA

If you can read this, thank a teacher.... If you are reading it in English thank a Veteran. Please keep this circulating.

Happy Dad's day, leave a comment, tell me what you thought.
Leave a comment, tell me what you didn't think.

Update

This weekend-

I had quite an interesting and long weekend this pas friday through monday. To start it all off we had a missionary family

from germany come to stay at our house last friday. They were great and alot of fun. One of the things that just brings them

closer to us is that both of our families are missionaries, and our family is german just a few generations back from

Germany. So it was really neat learning more about our heritage.
They sang a song for us in german and it was really really beautiful, Their kids are lucky to have a family that is very

musically talented. They had five kids and one freind traveling with them. Four of them girls, the oldest 18 and the youngest

and the only boy (who stayed in my room along with my brothers) 11 years old. Saturday morning they left to go to other

churches.

But wait there's more!!

On Sunday I went to my freind Max's house along with my brother and we then spent two days making a movie together. Along

with Sergay, Max's brother, and Mason, Sergay's freind we worked straight through most of the daylight hours after church and

the next day making this movie. Unfortunatly even with two whole days of work, we only got a fifteen minute movie plus

extras. Although it's one of the best Deck of Cards (our company) has ever made. With a cheap camcorder and windows movie

maker, though I thought it was pretty good. Anyway, it is called The Adventures of Fruitman, and we hope to make more

episodes soon. Although Chandler (a member of Deck of Cards productions)hasn't gotten a copy yet i expect it to be on his

website soon. So if you want to see it be watching for it on The world of Disiance

Yesterday-

Well, what happened yesterday thats worth telling you about? I went downstairs to comb my hair, and waddya know! There's

water all over the bathroom floor. Come to find out that there is water all over the laundry room too. So we are having a

plumber come today and check it out.

Today and later- This next weekend we are planning to go to a men's work retreat at Twin Peaks Bible Camp, which is always

fun becuase we get to shoot shotguns :D woohoo! Anyway, this next monday I am finally going to get my drivers lisence.

HALLELUJAH!!!

Also my finger is still a bit bruised but healing.

well thats all for this time. Till next post,

Your faithful typer,
Yokanchi

Adam and Eve (theology)

When there was only adam and eve, and when they were in the garden of
eden. Before the fall. God gave one rule, don't eat from the tree of
the knowledge of good and evil. What i would like to bring to your
attention is that God did not say: make sacrifices every day. No. God
did not say thou shalt not steal, everything was theirs already. Most
importantly God did not say; Thou shalt not kill. This brings up alot of questions as you can imagine. Does this
mean that if Adam had suddenly gotten tired of his wife and said to
himself "i think ill just get rid of her" and if Adam had murdered his
wife before the fall would it have been wrong?I apologize if that sounds kind of morbid, but it's an interesting
thought.
Let me go back. God had given one rule and one rule only, and you know
what it is of course, don't eat from that one tree (to paraphrase it).
Therefore, it would not have been wrong according to God's laws he had
given so far seeing as thats all he said they couldn't do.
Now, there was alot of other things that God did not say they couldn't
do. Why, didn't they do "bad things" ? Or rather, what prevented them
from doing them? Now stop for a minute and think. What rule did they break when they
fell? They ate of the tree. They broke God's one rule. Did they murder?
Apparently not cause we're here. Secondly, why? Did they not murder, steal, lie, and deceive.
Well if you think about it why do people sin in the first place? Of
course everybody now has a sin nature passed down from this sin that
was commited 6000 yrs or so ago.
So, we, with the sin nature can sin on our own easily without
temptation. But as for Adam and Eve they were without this sin nature,
that we are so accustiomed to having, before the fall. Therefore them
to even have a desire to sin they would have to have a little
temptation. Now I am in no way saying that they could not have sinned on
their own. They were still free-willed creatures, but they as of yet
had no cause, reason, or motivation to disobey their beloved creator.
So, when Satan went to the garden. And when Satan took the shape of a
serpent to go and tempt eve, did go tempt her to, say, lie? No. Did he
tempt her to murder adam? No. He had no reason or motive to tempt them
to do any other thing. Satan's main goal was to cause one or both of
them to willfully break the one law God had made for them. That one
tree, that they were not to eat from. Why did Satan not tempt them to
kill, lie, steal, or covet? becuase these were as of yet not God's
laws!

Now, this raises another question, and i want to make clear that this
next part is all conjecture. It is only what I think and what seems to
me what must have been God's reasoning. So far I have taken from the
Bible and only applied logic. Now I will take what the Bible has said
happened and apply my own conjecture.
Now, the question that this topic raises is: Why, didn't God make
these laws (such as thou shalt not kill etc...) ? I beleive that becuase
of the fact that Adam and eve did not have a sin nature and did not
have any motives for killing, stealing, lying, and type of things God
didn't even need to make laws against these things. Why did God decide to make the tree? And why did he make that
one rule? That would be even more conjecture, and it would also make
this a whole lot longer than it should be. So, I have decided not to
discuss this. At least for now. Mainly because I really have no idea.
(his thoughts are higher than my thoughts).

Well, if you've read this far at least i haven't scared you that bad, now go ahead and leave a comment and tell me what you think. Go right ahead! Its easy, Don't be afraid!

Part 2 Update
