Backpacking.

Yessirree, that's where I was for exactly (more or less haha) 6 days. We left last Sunday and drove for a long long time to get to the end point of where we were planning on going to. We then drove to the start point of where we were going to start. That's what we were planning on anyway. We drove for a real long time (probably over an hour, but that's a guess) on this trail that was as bumpy as the Indiana Jones ride at Disney Land, probably a little more bumpier actually and not as fast or as fun :( . anyhoo we finally got a point where Fred (the owner of the truck we were riding in) figured he might have blown out some gears. It was also getting dark so we stopped and camped up by some trail head. The next morning we drove down the road a ways more and got to the trail head we started the backpacking trip from. I'm not sure exactly whether we were supposed to start there or not. I didn't pay much attention to the navigation of where we were going because to tell the truth I didn't care that much. We had six people with us and enough that knew what they were doing so I didn't pay much attention to the navagating junk. Anyway, we hiked all day that day mostly through marshy muddy stuff. We finally stopped. Me and Benjamin were really exhausted and sore. I think that was probably the longest day we did on the trip ironically. We couldn't find a good camping spot so we camped on this area that was kind of slanted but good enough (at least for me, some of our group griped a little about it) We ate an MRE (meal ready to eat) that night. It was delicious too. Those are the meals they get in the army. The next day we hiked a while then got to this mountain range we had to cross. So, we walked up and over. It wasn't exactly the easiest way over, and in fact I think it was probably one of the harder ways over, but we made it (finally ). We climbed up what was probably like a 45 degree slant (or more, some of the time I was pretty much crawling and using the three points on at all times rock climbing rule too.)
So, we got over and then took lunch and a little lay-down rest. I got to have the rare privelidge of using the exotic Chandler picture taker. So, I got some backpack nappers on photo :) After we left that place we walked for a little while and then crossed another pass (AGAIN!!) lol. that one was fun because we found a gigantic snow drift at the top and I wrote my name in it and then we went to the top of the pass. We sat at the top of this pass longer than any other one. This was fun, one of the best views on the trip either way you looked too. I also got to see a pica (I think that's how you spell it). Those things are the funniest little bunny/mouse things I've ever seen. Then we climbed down a steep muddy and snowbank filled section of mountain intent on being slippery. We lived through that easier than most of the hiking though :) I enjoyed sliding on the steep portions of snow. After we went down a ways finding a camping spot pretty close to a small stream we set up our tents. There was so little flat camping ground (that was covered by some scrawny trees we used for wind buffers) that the tents were actually touching except for one. We camped there for a few days and that was actually our last camping grounds of the trip. While Chandler, Benjamin, my dad, and I stayed here. During this trip I had been applying suntan lotion like a crazy man because I'd learned my lesson after skiing, as Chandler, KC, and Traci could tell you lol. Even so with all my sunscreen drenched skin I got some sunburn mainly on the areas of my skin that got exposed when I was forcibly made to get a haircut. Can you believe it? I had to get a haircut!
lol, I actually had wanted to look as shaggy as I could for the backpacking trip so I tried to avoid getting a haircut till afterwards, but my dad said I'd have to pay for it if I waited (awfully mean eh? lol).
Anyway these last few days of the trip we saw some deer that stayed around our camp for like 2 days. We got really close to them too, that was cool. Chandler spent most his time taking as many pictures as he possibly could of the deer lol. We had to stay in the tent one time for a long time playing euchre, which was fun but they were small tents!
I think in all reality they are supposed to be one person tents but we had two people per tent. For euchre however, we had four people packed into one tent to play for a while lol.
After one day we went down to see if we could get any reception on a cell phone to see if Fred and Mr. Prall left a voicemail as to how their situation was. They had gone to see about getting the truck out off the mountains. (I don't know if I remembered to mention that.)
So after we got about 1 mile away from the parking lot we met up with Mr. Prall who told us how things were going and stuff. That morning we'd taken a little hike too. That night Fred got back and he'd gotten the truck out really well with the help of some really nice folks. Well, the next day we hiked all the way back to the parking lot and then went into town and ate at a resturant. That was pretty good. Unfortunately they were pretty expensive for how much food they gave. On the way home we all had monsters (well the kids did). And Chandler was going wacky with caffiene lol. I don't know if I was or not, but it seemed like I wasn't reacting much to the caffiene at all lol, I think I was just really tired.
Overall I think that the trip was really really great and I'll remember it for a long time. To the tell the truth however I'd say backpacking is really boring, and not really worth the effort it takes. If you're planning on going packpacking I'd advise you just go rent a campsite somewheres where there's a lake or a swimming pool or something and go have lots of fun. However if you do go backpacking be sure and bring a camera or your hard work will only leave you sore (although more buff)and picturless. I think besides the good fellowship the sights are probably the best thing on the whole trip. That's pretty much all folks.

Last Sunday,
We went and gave out free ice cream with our church along with newspapers from our church and tracts. We, as usual, had fun with the dry ice :) :D XD
Me and Sergey went around and held cups of water with pieces of dry ice and telling people we had hot coffee lol. Later after we went to get ice cream me and Sergey made a dry ice bomb hehehe. The water bottle we put the ice in swelled up bigger than I thought a bottle could. Then Sergey went and poked it with his toe and it blew. That was really really loud too lol. Then tonight we went and watched more fireworks near our home. I think they were better than the ones we saw Sunday. Even though they shot them off more slowly they were way bigger and the boom level was much better :)

Bits and peices

During the backpacking trip we decided that you couldn't have a rockslide unless you had molasses.

We started calling Chandler's Mp3 player the little red thing of happyness.

We started laughing at certain flowers for no particular reason.

We came up with; "lethargic slug" Isn't that great? LOL

Yeah, so the moral is. If you have sanity save it and don't go packpacking if you know what's good for you!

Wondering where I am?

Probably not, but just in case you were: I'm off backpacking through the wonderful (or not so-) wild. Yep this week I'll be traipsing about in the mountains with my bro, Chandler, my dad and his along with this other guy from our church. Wish me luck (I'm gonna need it!). Hopefully it's slightly more enjoyable than torture. I'm hoping for better, but expecting the worst.
Anyway, I'll try to post a blog on how it went as soon as I can. That'll be after I recover from the trauma (or get rescued early).

Church Camping

Yup, Church camping. That's where I was last weekend.
It was really fun. There was a fire ban so there was only moderate fun involved, but we went swimming, played volleyball, putt putt golf, and went fishing. I bought a one day fishing lisence for a whoppipng 9 bucks. I caught two fish, and sergey caught 6! Altogether we got 13 fish and had fish soup and fried fish. Me and Max reasoned that each fish was worth at least 5$ so that makes 10$ and so technically (if we're even right about that) I came out saving money which was good. Even though there was a fire ban me and Max managed to go make several tiny fires in holes late at night the last day. That was really fun.
The most interesting part was when me and Benjamin went to the wash house that same night and we heard something breaking branches off a nearby tree. We went over and shined the flashlight up in the tree till we could see what it was. We saw a really cute little racoon eating something. I wanted one. It was funny because it kept eating even though we were shining a light right on it.
I also noticed that the lid to the trashcan next to the tree was off.
The night before we heard a racoon knocking over trash cans and heard a guy say he saw a racoon that was about 15lbs. That was fun.
Those were pretty mucht the highlights of our weekend. This week I've been doing things for college, a little work on the side, resting, and packing for the 5 (or so) day backpacking trip I'm going to take with Chandler, his dad, my dad, Benjamin, and Mr. Powell. It'll be something interesting for sure.

I'll try to blog about that later. But yeah, generally when I need to post something and I haven't been blogging I've been real busy doing things to blog about! So be patient people!

My Music Evaluation Standards

Ok so I actually didn't think of this myself, but I've talked about it before with Chandler and he just posted it on his blog, so I thought to myself; "hey! that's a good idea for a blog" Anyhoo here's how I rate music.

There’s a few different categories that I use when I listen to music that all contribute to the final rating.

First there's the lyrics.
When I listen to music the lyrics are not the most important part of a song. Although a huge part of how the song sounds when I listen to a song if the lyrics aren't the best it's not so bad for me. That is on two conditions, one that the music can make up for it, and two that the lyrics aren't totally unbearable.

Now, this brings me to another category; the singer. That's a big part of how the lyrics sound. Simple rule, you gotta be able to sing. Some people can some people can't. Now this isn't an all-important part of the music. Like the lyrics, you might have a bad singer but a good song still. Usually you'll have to have good lyrics to make a bad singer sound good, but sometimes you can cover it up with real good music.

Thirdly and possibly most importantly is the music. The music, has got to sound good! If it doesn't, I'm not liking it right away. Now you can have a good singer and good lyrics to make up for not so good music, but that can only put the song up to a 5 out of 10 in my opinion.
What are ways to make a song sound good. Well, unlike Chandler, I do like a good solid beat, unfortunately that doesn't make up a good song in itself, that's just one good part. Alternately a song doesn't necissarily have to have a good beat. I do like songs that use the guitar mainly to make a good rythm/beat. Ingenuity is another good way to make a good song, like the Supertones using a trombone (however you spell that ) sounds really great and is totally suprising. At the same time you have to master your instrument, whatever it might be. You might have alot of instruments but without skill it just sounds bad. When it comes right down to it, the deciding factor in whether I like the music category of a song is usually whether the artist is skilled enough. That's a big reason why I like many many types of music. Yes, including rap. However This brings me to one more point that is a 100% deciding point for me.

The words.
I don't mean the lyrics as in how they sound and if they flow, but the words. Sometimes you can hear them sometimes you can't that doesn't bother me as much as what the meaning of them is. If a song is dirty I don't like it. Occasionally I can accept a song with a little bit of something that is questionable, but generally I don't like anything with dirty language or anything of the sort. For this reason I only listen to christian Rap, because, as you probably already know secular rap is filthy. This also applies to every other kind of music I listen to, nearly everything I listen to is christian. And again any cds I buy are 90% of the time christian.
Taking each of these factors into account is how I rate a song or a particular band or artist, and that's pretty much it.

Events lately

Well, the graduation went well. It was pretty fun. I was the first one going up and doing everything first, since my last name starts with A. I was sad no one came besides my grandparents and my family. It would have been fun to see more people there. But there were still alot of people I knew simply from our school.
Then we had the Graduation Party. That was pretty fun. We were playing frisbee with this giant frisbee and got it stuck in a tree. We spent like 15 minutes trying to get it down. Someone walking by suggested we throw a shoe at it. For a second I thought, nah that would be dumb, i'd just get my shoe stuck in the tree, but then I thought to my self "nah, how in the world could something that heavy get stuck way out on this branch. So I threw it.....
and it got stuck. Then some nearby people gave us a water bottle to throw at it so we filled it and then got all our stuff down. We also played some volleyball and stuff. The Jarrets came even though they had to go to a wedding so they only stayed a few minutes. It was nice that they stopped by anyway.

The week following all that I spent most of my time doing work, moving cabinets and delivering stuff to make money.
I've been hoping to get a small desk for my room. So far I've been using my mom's card table, which I don't like using because it doesn't have a place to hold cds and movies, but also because my mom needs to use it periodically so I have to unload everything off of it. It also doesn't look that nice. Unfortunately with me going to college in about two months, that would be a bit wasteful to buy a whole new one. If anyone has a desk they want to get rid of be sure to let me know!

Well this last weekend was really really fun. Chandler came over and we were planning on having a prank day, where we'd go to some public place and prank unsuspecting citizenry. Unfortunately we couldn't think of all the things we were planning on doing before, and we didn't feel like doing it. So we just hung around, took turns playing the Halo 2 Campeign on "Heroic" difficulty setting, and went to a park and the mall to eat. We went to the park to get some new scenes for a music video we're making to a certain Weird Al song. So far it's probably one of the most entertaining movies we've ever made yet. Mostly because it has good music to go with it probably, but we've also been working on it for over a year. Well I shouldn't say working on it since we don't work on it that much, but we started it a while ago. Anyway, sorry to get anyone's hopes up, but I don't anticipate very many people actually ever seeing it.
That's all we did mostly this weekend, though it did wear me out (Probably has something to do with all the energy drinks I've been having, they're not good for one's sleep).

That's about all that's been going on lately. This weekend we're going on a church campout, that should be fun, if I can make it through the week. It's been in the 90's all week and I've been delivering these cds for a phone company .

Well, I can't think of anything else to write about.
We also watched Donnie Darko and it was awesome, almost bought it when we went to Wal-Mart. Oh! Today, I went to the Doctor's and had to get a TB test :P yukky. Had to get it for the college. The poked me make this nasty bubble on my skin, it's so sicko. I hate needles!!

I don't have a title, I'm just bored and ready to blog.

Well, I'm sitting here at the piano studio with nothing good to do, so I'm posting. I finished all the stuff I really needed to do today, so there's really nothing I have to do right now. Piano lessons were kind of fun today. Even though I haven't touched a piano in quite a few days, and haven't practiced in a while longer, I found a neato song that I hadn't seen in my Narnia book. It's called "Winter Light", it's on the soundtrack which I have. It's also one of my favorites so I was excited to play it. Turns out it was one of the coolest songs in the book. Coolest sounding on the piano I mean.
Well I don't really have anything else to post about. Oh yeah! Graduation is tomorrow, and party after that. We have purple graduation gowns (yeah I know, don't say anything, it's our school colors.). We went to graduation practice yesterday and stayed there like all afternoon, leaving early to get to piano so I could come teach ONE STUDENT!! Luckily I got to do some other work and sub for one of my teacher's students so I actually made more money than I usually would have.

Donnie Darko

I wouldn't normally devote a whole entire post to a movie, but this is such an incredibly amazing movie that I thought I would. The reason I was going to blog about something different is that I'm actually sitting on the stage at graduation practice. We're waiting for the people that are only having commencement practice because the graduates practice later today. Anyway, I watched this movie; "Donnie Darko" while I was in California with a friend and Max, then we watched it again later with another friend and benjamin. It's a pretty old movie and was actually made in 2001 but set in like 1987 or something like that. The movie has a ton of curse words, but other than that it's the most awesome movie I've ever seen. If you've seen the village, it's something like that in the sense that it looks like a freaky bad movie but it's actually friggin sweet. If you ask me what type of genre it is, I can't actually tell you because it's like every genre. It appears to be a horror movie, but really I can't think of a genre that doesn't apply. It's even comedic. Although this is such a good movie I wouldn't recommend anyone under 17 seeing it for the most part.

Traveling.

Well, that was like the sweetest vacation I've had all year. Oh yeah, it was the only one. Well, it was great. One fun thing we did was go to this cool place called galco's. It's a big soda shop that sells tons of weird soda's you've never heard of. Today I had one that I got there. It was called birch beer, tasted like root beer. Sarah was convinced it was beer, even though I told her it's like root beer is not really beer.
Anyway, today we've been driving since like 7 this morning. I can't believe how much I slept today in the car, I just could keep awake after lunch. It's cool though, I picked up an adapter that allows me to plug in my computer in the car, and that's fun. Right now I'm sitting in a tent next to a plugin place at a KOA. It's a really nice place. We're in Utah now. Not much else I want to talk about now, except my graduation and the afterwards party is in a few days and you all better be there!!
That reminds me I should send Tony one of those announcement thingys.

Tomorrow night our homeschool group has a talent show. Our choir is doing at least two songs for it. I saw the talent show last year and it was really good. I'm pretty happy though because this time I'm gonna bring Max and Sergey. That'll be fun. I think our choir is really great, so it'll be fun to get to finally show someone :)

It's Interesting

It's interesting, I'm always coming up with these great ideas for blogging, ideas that are really deep and would make great reading material. But, your blog never has anything that deep. You say.
That, is unfortunately very very true. The problem is when I think of these things. I'm always thinking of them while I'm in bed or driving (usually driving). I guess it's murphy's law, but whenever I think of something great to talk about I can't blog it, or write it down or anything. Anyway, I figured sometime I'm going to just have to lay on my bed and stare at the ceiling till I come up with something real cool to post.
Well, enough of this and that, here's a little update info about what's going on in my life. I'm going to California next week for about a week and a half for our yearly field conference, where all the missionaries to the deaf from BMW get together to have some meetings. It's fun because I get to see friends, and it's usually (unfortunately because I'd like another vacation) the closest thing to a vacation we get. Anyway, all that to say why I'll be offline or otherwise busied most the time. Also, (did you know our youth leader really likes that word; "also". If you pay attention he says it a whole bunch but anyway) I'm gonna have to plant the grass armchair after my trip since I'll have to water it and keep it from getting rained on and waterlogged. It should take about 10 days to sprout, so I'll do that when I get home.

One more thing to mention, I'm trying to get an Electric Typerwriter website going, it's a little hard because I've forgotten nearly all the stuff I knew (which wasn't very much in the first place) about website making. So I'm trying to work a little with Disiance to try and get one presentable. Right now it's still in the stuck-in-my-head stage still. I'm getting all the ideas of things to put on it together before I go ahead and throw it on the screen (that's gonna be the hardest part). So, I'd really like suggestions. I definitely want a picture section as well as a section to put my thoughts and ratings on movies and books I've recently read, and try and recommend too and then I also would like to put a place where I can write a little about certain news articles and websites and direct you viewers to them. Any more ideas are greatly appreciated. Well, it's real late and I have stuff to do tomorrow, so I'm going to try and get to sleep.

Grasschair

Well, I finally got some time to work on the grass armchair, and I barely have enough time to write this post too. Well, we finished making the structure part with the cardboard and all yesterday. I'm probably going to have to plant it after our trip to California, but it's all set. Here's a picture of how it looks



It's a little different than the one made by that company, but I think it's going to turn out really well.

Well, tomorrow is Apathy night, but first I'll be going to Id-Ra-Ha-Je for their chuckwagon event.
That should be fun. I'm hoping this time I can go on the zipline, I haven't been on one of those in forever.

Is that real?!

I was driving behind one of these today and I wondered to myself; "hmmm I wonder if that thing's real" I mean it had "Mirage" printed on the back. Heh, that's how exciting my day was. Oh well, I guess I'm gonna go do... something now, hey, I think I'll go see if I can get the computer and test out Age of Empires III. I'm borrowing it from Chandler. By the way Chandler I'm done with your book, I was gonna give it to you today, but I forgot :(

Chandler's house

We're watching Pirates of the Carribean now. It's a great movie. Last night we made up a sound pack to replace the standard windows sounds. It makes using the computer 2x funner!

---Update---

Well, this week I've been working with my dad putting up drywall, so that's been a good thing to do to hopefully get a paycheck. I got paid a little money for helping the guy my dad is actually working for, lol so I went shopping (no I really didn't do that just becuase I got some money, I just happened to see a few things I needed) So I was at Wal-mart because benjamin wanted to buy some extra speakers and I happened to find all these sweet things I wanted to buy. I had no idea Wal-Mart had so many sweet things in their aisle where they keep computer peripherials . So I narrowed it down to being less than 20$ (just a little though) and found my self with a new mouse for my laptop (very handy indeed) and a sweet screen cleaning squeegee.
Well, haven't been doing much more, just tons of drywall. I haven't had time to do anything else on my grass armchair. I'm going to put up some pictures if Chandler ever remembers to bring our camera. You can go bug him at his site and help him remember if you want :)
Still have to get my graduation party invitations sent out and I'm praying I'll find time to finish my music test.

The Sleeping Beauty Deception

Well, the play was really really cool. In fact, at least twice as good as I thought it would be. The last scene was probably the most amazing scene in a staged play I've ever seen. It was a massive battle scene between people, angels, and demons. It was amazing! There was one scene in the middle that was dragging a little, just seemed a little long. Other than that, and the fact that it started a little late it was really a great thing to watch. I'm glad we went. Well that's about all I have to post about.
Oh! The grass armchair, Me and Benjamin spent about an hour figuring out exactly how we wanted it and cutting the frame peices before we had to go. We got most of the major ones done, so now we just have to get the little ones done, buy the seeds and fit it together.
I hope I can work on it tomorrow. We'll see though, it sounds like it's gonna be busy tomorrow. Sarah is supposed to have a choir event. I don't know if we'll have to go or what.

Cell phone

A few of you have probably been wondering why you IM me and then I don't respond but I'm still online for a really long time. Well, I haven't gotten cable internet yet (unfortunately). What I have done is figured out how to make AIM send me text messages when I'm not on my computer. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I finally got a cell phone lately. So the long and short of it all is that when it says that I'm "mobile" it means I'm not actually on my computer but my cell phone is. If you feel like dropping me a message, please go ahead and feel free to do so, it's still free for me to recieve messages. Just don't get all dissapointed that I don't answer, that's what actually costs me. If I don't, its either becuase I don't have anything that's worth enough for me to say, or my cell phone's down in my room on my shelf.

Well, tonight I'm going to see our "school play" (only say that it's, quote, a school play becuase it's from our homeschool group. It's still gonna be great, but it's not technically a "school play") anyway, it's called the cinderella deception. Or something like that. It sounds like it's gonna be really really good, can't wait. Oh and I've decided that until we leave I'm going to occupy myself with a personal project. I've decided to make this in our backyard. That should keep me well occupied for a while. Since I'm finished with speech, debate, and music theory I'll hopefully have the time to finish it. I'm really looking forward to having a comfertable place to sit since I really enjoy taking my homework outside and working, or just plopping down with my laptop and enjoying the summer like weather. Anyway I'll try to post my progress and pictures if I get it working right. Benjamin will be my associate in this endeavor *grin*

Well, today we finally got our debate ballots! Our debate teacher has kind of been slacking a bit. Of course she's pretty busy, but it was kind of dissapointing to have to wait so long. Anyway, nothing much suprising. We only won one of our rounds. Interestingly enough the one we did win was against this guy that had come to our youth group activity a couple weeks before. That was the most fun debate because it was nice and slow, heh just the way we need it. Anyway, that was nice to FINALLY see how we did. Then today,
I gave a persuasive speech today. That was pretty fun. The speech was supposed to be 7-10 minutes. Well, I figured since this is the last speech I'll ever give for this class, and since my real teacher wasn't even there (subsitute) that I would go over time. I gave a 14 minute speech, which was quite amazing since I timed it before, reading all but the conclusion which was pretty short. I got 13 minutes when I timed it that time, afterwards I cut out a portion that was larger than the conclusion I didn't read and figured it'd be something like 11-12 minutes. Boy was I suprised when they said my time was 14 minutes. Anyway, that was really fun. I had fun doing that. What really made it interesting was the fact that actually I forgot my speech altogether. I had printed two copies out and stuck them in a folder last night and then forgot the folder today. (duh! somehow I knew this was going to happen) So I asked if I could use my laptop instead since I had the speech there on my laptop *Grin*. So I took a stack of chairs since the flimsy music stand wouldn't have held my laptop and proceeded to give my speech with the laptop (with the teacher's permission of course *grin* ).
That was great fun. I wrote the speech in 4 or 5 days lol, even though I had had two weeks to do it I didn't start it till this week. I was pretty amazed at how good it was for how late I started, but I was working on in almost non-stop throughout those days (at least when I wasn't doing something else I had to do) so it really isn't all that amazing, but good.
So, all in all this week was good.
Sorry about the really long (probably boring post). But that's what's been going on in this kid's life.

Last night, today, the rest

Well, last night was certainly interesting. First off we went to the good friday service at church, and then came home. We arrived at about 10:oopm and Benjamin and I spontaniously decided to go set up a tent and sleep in the back yard. I checked the weather and it promised to be as good a morning as that night seemed. So we slapped together the tent and tossed in some stuff and went to bed. Not to sleep however. We stayed up a while. Then I found a neighbor's internet connection and played Call of duty till my battery ran out. I got an amazing score of 32 kills and 20 or so deaths which is probably one of my best scores ever, and that was on my touchpad. That was pretty fun. Then we went to sleep. The night went pretty well, however at about 6:oo the weather changed. It began to get very windy. At this point I would like to mention we did not put any stakes in, just us and our stuff to keep the tent down. At about 6:30 contrary to the weather report it began to rain lightly. We had decided upon setting the tent up that we wouldn't use the rain tarp. So as it began to get harder and harder, we got up and threw all our stuff in the house and dropped the tent in a flurry of action, all in pajamas I might add. So that was really kind of sad. That's pretty much all the interesting stuff that happened, but I also went to choir practice at 9:oo, which was rather annoying since I hadn't slept well due to the wind. Anyway,
now I'm just about to have lunch.

Wednesday through yesterday I spent working on a long superhero and villian episode.
I think I'm going to quit writing those. I look at how much work it takes to do one episode and I don't see that it's worth it. Anyway, I put that episode up, and was personally very satisfied with it. I checked today and found some very discouraging comments however. So anyway, that's the long and short of what's been going on of late around me. Probably alot more of the short than the long, but that's all folks. Tune in next time!

Yep, Benjamin and I are both at Chandler's house having fun and late late nights with lots of junk food. Anyway, I just now am getting caught up and I have a little tidbit gathered from our last sleepover at our house, which I have for you to listen to you now.

Well, here's the update I should've written a while ago

Yerp, here it is. The information.

Well, the debate speech tournament went really well. That is not to say we placed anywhere in anything, which we didn't, but aside from that it was very very fun. Mostly just all the meeting new people, and getting really really good at debate. Also I gave my Humorous Interpretive speech, that was another really fun thing to do. It was really fun just to give it. I think I would have advanced, except that my speech only took up half the alotted time.
The schedule. The first day we started the whole thing out with a bang and did four debates. It was rather interesting becuase we debated our own case 3 times out of the four. The reason being, well, to explain it more fully, we were affirmative twice (which means we gave our case twice), and we were negative twice (which means we debated against another team's case). It ended up being that we did have an equal amount of debates on aff. and neg. but one of the times we were negative we ended up debating against, what was essentially our own case. So that was actually kind of fun. Interestingly enough the one time we weren't debating our own case, that was the time we did the absolute worst on a debate. But, as an excuse we were debating the first place winners that time. Benjamin and I didn't even understand it at all till their second speech, and we used all of our whole five minutes of prep time immediately after their first speech. So that went really bad. One really funny thing that happened (and did happen during this particular debate) was that I went up to present a speech and I was prepared to read a peice of evidence that said something to the effect of; sometimes when there are unfortunate outcomes it is the patients fault because of other factors like obesity and smoking. I pulled out the evidence and was all ready to read it, when I momentarily looked up and realized that the judge for this round was probably the obese judge (it wasn't a guy either) out of every other judge in the building at the time. Suddenly I decided I had pulled out the wrong peice of evidence and stuttered onto my next point. Now that I think about it I think that the evidence I was going to read might not even have been relevant, so perhaps it was for the better, I hadn't quite figured out the affirmative's case at that point either (no wonder they won). Anyway, the whole thing altogether was great. The second day we debated twice and so that was great fun. Also gave my speech again that day. Then the third day was probably the most fun, because I got to go and watch whatever I wanted, already being eliminated the day before from any competition. So I watched a great many funny and captivating speeches. The most interesting thing happened that day. Actually, I think the most interesting thing that has ever happened in a debate (short of someone actually dying, which has never actually happened mind you). During the Octi-Finals, halfway through the power decided to go out. Just to explain for clarity again, the Octi-finals are right before the semi-finals and then the finals are after that. So what they decided to do was switch to a room with windows. There was about 5 minutes of barely useful daylight that hardly made it into the room. So the five judges and the four competitors finished the round using flashlights and cell phones to light the paper. That was pretty cool. Some of them can now say; "I have debated in the dark". Hehe, anyway, tomorrow we're going to actually find out how many rounds we actually won, which I don't anticipate to be any great number but I shall update you guys as soon as possible on this info. Also as for what I'm doing this weekend;

Tomorrow night after classes, we're going to have a Mystery Dinner hosted by our youth group. This is a dinner where the patrons have no idea what they're ordering. Then after that Benjamin and I are going to Chandler's house. On Saturday we are all going to a scottish festival with Chandler's brother in law. Chandler talked me into wearing a skirt*cough* I mean kilt to it. So that'll be interesting. I'll finally be able to say that I wore a kilt. Anyway, that'll be some fun.

Sorry for the somewhat abbreviated and possibly typo ridden post, but I've had a ton to write about and I really am supposed to be making my lunch for tomorrow and hitting the sack.

Whew! what a week

Well the tournament for debate/speech (both of which I'm participating in). So I'm feeling really really really anxious about that.
This last thursday I drove an hour and a half up to go to debate practice, after a few hours of that I had to leave it early to go teach piano and then go to awana. Immediately afterwards (the next day actually) we had friday classes and debated that day too. Well sort of, we didn't actually get very much debating done. Then we came home and Chandler came over and stayed till saturday and then went skiing with us for benjamin's birthday on Saturday. And this is where I got my second degree sunburn on my face for not wearing sunscreen. It was so warm I didn't have anything on my face and it was hardly cloudy too so that's how it happened I guess.
It didn't really hurt so much till today and a little yesterday. But mostly today it's been really painful. Most of the burn is around my mouth and nose area so when I eat it hurts to move my mouth. So after that Chandler stayed at my house again till Monday.
Monday KC and Traci came and picked us up and we went shopping and watched a movie at our house. That was really fun. I found some really sweet headphones and Chandler got an expansion to Carcasonne. Then today I went to the Museum with Traci and KC. It was great being able to hang out with them, but it was pretty annoying becuase by now, my sunburn is really dry and peeling and it hurt most the time, especially when I talk or try to eat. So it was fun otherwise. When I got home I was so drained (I think because of my burns, I slept for about an hour and a half. And now here I am writing this post. That's a nice little short overview of my crazy week
And it's only going to get crazier, I have the three day tournament starting on thursday and I'm going to be debating with Benjamin and entering a Humorous Interpretive speech. So pray all you possibly can for me (I'll need it).
I think after this I'll just lie low for a week and try to get some rest. I'll be lying low and trying to avoid any more teachers who are going to try and bamboozle me into getting into something like this again.
*sigh*
Yep well, that's about all for this post. I really should be preparing for thursday, and here I sit writing this post.

Well, I actually got a whole bunch of stuff done for debate since I wrote this post a couple hours ago lol.

PS I don't know what in the world the title says on this post or if it's even readable. Like I said blogger.com isn't quite working right. I also tried to post a comment replying to Chandler's comment on the last post, but I don't think it worked.

Sweet!

Ok, so I finally spent my life's savings on a laptop and now here I sit at our local library making use of their highspeed (not so highspeed really) wireless internet access. I ended up finally getting a Dell inspiron b130 with 1 gig of RAM. A pretty good deal too. As for the recital, thanks for any prayers about that. It went really pretty well. My students were spread all throughout the three recitals so I ended up staying there from 11:15 till 4. Personally it was pretty boring, because of the fact that you have to listen to so many boring songs to hear any good ones. I ended up hearing Fur Elise four times, all not done very well (they weren't really the worst and I wouldn't expect any more from the age they came from, but I could have played it better without practice for the most part. I played Jardins siuos le pluie (dunno about that spelling) which means gardens in the rain in french. It was written by Claude Debussy. Well, as for the upcoming weeks pray that we can get all practiced up for debate and speech because me and Benjamin have a debate/speech regional tournament coming up the last two days of this month and the first of next month. So, we'll be going crazy doing debate till then. Oh and I almost forgot to mention. Get your jealous feelings working because we're going skiing this weekend! WOOHOO!

Update

Well, this week I have a piano recital this weekend. Actually I get to go to three recitals, since I have students in all three recitals. There's one student I'm really worried that he might not be very good. He's taken alot of work, but it doesn't seem like he's practicing or something, although I've gotten assurances that he is. Anyway, pray that he gets his act together for this Saturday, which is when we have the recital.

Me and Benjamin finally got a microphone this Sunday. So, I downloaded a really awsome free recording program called Audacity. By the way thanks Jim for recommending it to me it's working nicely.

So I recorded a somewhat good copy of a song I wrote and was planning on posting a copy of it on my blog, unfortunatly I looked at the size of the file (17mb!!)
and found that it's rather large. Too large in fact. So I'll have to figure out another way to share it.
Well that's all I really have to post about for now.

Eureka!

Me and one of my friends used to joke with each other about wondering what "made girls tick". (besides shoes and chocolate)
So anyway, tonight me and benjamin and philip were pretty wacky because we all had hot chocolate. So then I made a great discovery. I have figured out how philip's brain works!! Basically the whole thing is made up of two virtual snakes which wander around a rather large empty basin. When they run into each other something comes out of his mouth! Even still greater, I figured out how Benjamin's works!
... His has three snakes.

Anyway, how Sarah's mind works is still a mystery. I'll post when I find more.

[Cybersalt Digest] February 28

A woman had a beautiful black cat with white feet, named Socks. Socks spent his days outside and came indoors only at night. One cool October evening, he disappeared.

She searched for him high and low, for several days, but all in vain. The following spring, however, Socks reappeared, looking healthy and clean. She figured he'd just been out sowing his wild oats, and let it go at that.

"A black cat?" the woman said. "With 4 white feet? Oh my, yes! He's the sweetest thing. My husband and I kept seeing him outside every fall. We hated it that the poor thing had to be out in the cold, so we decided that when we go south for the winter, we'd take him with us. He's been going to Florida with us every winter for the last few years."

Yesterday (Sunday)

Well, thank the Lord, the service at the senior citizen's apartment went very well. I gave my testimony, which I was finally able to make somewhat interesting and longer. Me and Benjamin gave our guitar special, that was fun. We sang Shine Jesus Shine, while playing guitar. I was happy because I didn't have to play the piano at all *grin*.
Well, since you're all probably wondering, (actually probably don't even want to know. too bad, I'm gonna tell you anyway! And you have to read it! That is if you want to get to the fun quote at the end :P ) I got through the dumb song we had to do at the beginning, even though it wasn't really that good or fun or interesting. Anyway, aside from that part, it was a really fun! I think we should do it again. I really enjoyed giving my testimony even though I abhore writing things for speaking, it was fun.

Change of Plans

Well, that stinks! Actually I'm really not that dissapointed, but I just found out today that my speech teacher thought that nobody was going to the speech tournament tomorrow. So, obviously she didn't get me registered. So, in all my worriedness and getting prepared, I guess I won't be actually doing it. Thanks, to whoever prayed for me anyway. I still need some prayers, since this sunday I will be helping out in the service our youth group is doing at the senior citizens apartments. Also, the competition tomorrow, is a sort of practice tournament, only in that we can't qualify for anything through it. However in a month they will be having a real tournament, and I am planning on going to that one. I gave my speech again today for my speech class, but this time memorized. Before I hadn't given it memorized. I got some very pleasent feedback, they all really liked it along with changing one of my character's voices to a french accent. That went well too.
So, that was encouraging. Hopefully I'll be able to compete next time.

Skiing and stuff

Well, I had a good time skiing. It was more cold this year than any other I think. I didn't enjoy the skiing I did in the morning as much because my face was going solid. After lunch however I had a good time. I skied with Sergey's friend Mason mostly, because he liked going down blue runs, and I did too. We liked going really fast down them. I wanted to go on Mary Jane, but we couldn't figure out a way to get to it without actually driving to the parking lot. Later I figured out a way that would have worked...
too bad.
It was pretty good anyway. I'm really not very sore interestingly enough. I think it's because I didn't do any blue blacks or anything.
I did some jumping, that was cool. I got some air while going really fast down a blue hill that was starting to form little tiny 'almost moguls' so I went off those and got some air. I did a few small jumps from trails in the forest, that was fun. The funniest part was when I went off this rather large jump from a trail going back on to a run, and I went high enough that I started to tip wrong, and so I screamed. It was embarrasing because it wasn't really a large jump and I wasn't going that fast either. I actually never really fell down the whole time, which was cool. I got a little close to wiping out at full speed on a blue. I slowed down after that. The only real fall I had was at the end. I came speeding down the hill and did some expert turning avoiding people and the fences at the end, and then did a nice little stop perfectly. Then, I lost my balence just standing there, and fell sideways a little but didn't actually get to the ground, because I caught myself with my hand. That's pretty cool.

Well, I have a speech tournament this weekend. Pray that I do well. One question, I have a five minute humorous speech I'm entering. The speech tournament lasts all day and not only that it's in Parker! Is it fair that I have to be there all day to enter my five minute speech?
Another thing I'm going to need a ton of prayer for, is the youth group's senior service coming up. I have to perfect a testimony I need to give by next sunday. I have worked on it some, but I've never written (or given) a testimony before, and I'm somewhat at a loss as to how to make it worth listening to. (concieted as I may seem, I really don't enjoy talking about my life's story that much. Things happen and I move on and forget about them. Boy doesn't that come in handy when people want to know everything interesting you've done in your life)
Also, I need prayer that I will have enough humility to not lose my sanity. We get to do a rather, (how should I put it) humiliating (I guess)and uncivilized (but more like, something any highschooler should not be caught doing)song for this same service, where we sing along with a tape of little kids singing a rather, (this is a more toned down version of what I think) unedifying (or, not worth watching) song.
Oh well, at least I don't have to put on a cowboy hat and dance around the stage with a toy horse....

So, pray for my sanity this week. It's a good thing I went skiing this monday, should keep me a little more relaxed (at least I certainly hope so).

Concert

Well, I didn't get to post this until today, but last Friday we had a church concert, and I got to play my recital song. It was good, but I for some reason whenever I go to play in front of people my hands get way shaky even though I wasn't really nervous. Anyway, it was pretty cool. I'd have to say the snacks afterwards were quite fun. Anyway I have alot of school to do so.

Well the Seahawks didn't win. That's too bad.
We watched it at my Grandparents house with Tom mow my dad and Benjamin. Everyone there was rooting for the Seahawks. I mainly wanted them to win because I wanted someone to beat the Steelers after they beat the Broncos. There were alot of interceptions, I was rather suprised.
One player on the steelers Benjamin, my dad, and I decided was a girl (actually we decided she was a girl when the steelers played the Broncos). I can't remember the name because her hair always covered her name on the back. KC and I were talking about her, but I still don't remember. Anyway, that was kind of funny. We also had nachos and salsa. I guess that makes up for it being a sad loss.

Phone books and Debate

Well, we delivered phone books again today. Me and Benjamin and Mr. Sidebottom (our youth pastor. Don't even laugh, I see that grin on your mug... Wipe it off!!) worked together and we did pretty well. We delivered to only apartments, and that turned out quite well, since they were so close together. It was pretty fun, but also a whole lot of work. We delivered all day and I am quite tired, but not too sore, which is good. Well, at least no more sore than I usually am. Anyway, tomorrow our youth group is going to go together and see Narnia after a lunch together. Then we're planning on coming back to the Church for youth group.

Lol, I had to check my own blog to see if I had posted about me and Benjamin's debate tournament.
Apparently I forgot to post how our debate tournament went. I've been kind of out of it this whole week after debating four times in a single day. We only won one debate, which coincidentally ended up being against a team from our group. Besides them (we weren't supposed to be debating anyone from our group only other people)we also ended up debating two teams who had competed before and thus were at least second year debaters. This and us debating the team from SALT (Speakers A Living Testimony, or something like that. The name of our club) happened because a few teams didn't show up. Our first debate (the only one against a first year team from another club) was almost forfeited by the other team since one from their team didn't show up and walk into the room till the last minute. Anyway, after all the debate stuff, there were some separate speech things, among them (and the most fun of them which is why this category had the most competitors) was the HI Humorous Interpretive event in which you give a speech that is like a small act with multiple actors but you portray all of them. I found out that my speech teacher (or some other mischievous gnome) entered me in the HI part of the speech competitions. I do have a speech that I might do later in a competition, but unfortunately I wasn't expecting to do anything for speech there, and didn't have my speech handy (and wasn't memorized) so I had to cross my name out on the schedule. Anyway, it was a lot of good practice.

I set half the clocks in my house ahead an hour and the other half back an hour Saturday and spent 18 hours in some kind of space-time continuum loop, reliving Sunday (right up until the explosion). I was able to exit the loop only by reversing the polarity of the power source exactly e*log(pi) clocks in the house while simultaneously rapping my dog on the snout with a rolled up Times. Accordingly, I will be in late, or early.

Ok, here's podcast for your listening enjoyment. It's not all that long and not incredibly great, but not too bad for the first we've made. I'm glad I finally just got it up, we had to try numorous ways to record it since we don't have very good equipment. Anyway;

Tonight on the way home from piano (awana was cancelled becuase of snow). It was really really snowy everywhere and one time a truck pulled out in front of me and fishtailed a bunch, so much that it looked like he was trying to, but it was a rather large road so I don't think he was. When we got near home on the empty streets I had a bunch of fun sliding around and swerving :D and Sarah was asleep too lol, didn't even wake up.

Debate stuff

Well, me and Benjamin went to my debate teacher's house and stayed there for a night. We debated today and my teacher said we won. It was fun once we got the hang of it and stopped freaking out because of time limits. She said we won because the affirmative team dropped an argument. Even though we didn't pursue some things we should have simply because I forgot about them. We also watched war of the worlds, which I don't recommend unless you like watching the little girl freak out (she had some real mental problems I think). The graphics were really cool, but there was virtually no plot, just lots of misplaced drama and the only reason anyone lives is that the aliens all die of colds that you don't even find out till the end from the narrator.

Anyway, we played some Halo2 with Jeff, Zack, (Ms. Maggie's kids) and Jay (another kid from debate).
That was fun and I was most often second place, which was cool.
That's about all I've been doing lately exept delivering phone books, which I get to do this weekend again with the youth group. Oh, and we have a debate tournament (practice tournament, but pretty much the same as a real one.) this coming monday. So, pray for us lol.

Well, I just deleted my "A Sad Tale" blog, I'm not going to have any time for that blog, and I haven't been creative enough to maintain regular posts on it (apparently). :( *cries for lost blog*

Tonight something funny although not unexpected happened tonight during church.
My dad was talking about king Hesekiah (yeah I know, Misspelled probably) and he said; "Whenever you are in need cry out to the Lord" Which I thought was pretty good.
Andy then said "Hallelujah" quite loudly, crossed himself,(catholic style) and burped.
(ah a glimpse into a typical church night. lol, it's not always that bad, but that was pretty funny).

What have I been doing you ask?

This post was actually posted on the wrong blog so I actually wrote it a couple days ago....

Well this Christmas season, after spending a whopping 40$ or more on Christmas gifts we had a nice (if not somewhat strange) Christmas day. After going to church, we came home and opened gifts, and then rushed over to our grandparent's house to have lunch and open a few more.
After Christmas Moriah, Chandler, and me went to Winter camp at Twin Peaks Bible camp. How was it?
Well, it positively rocked! I went down the sledding hill four times on a saucer that was twice the fun becuase it would only go backwards. Most of our free time was spent playing Apples to Apples, which my family as well as Kyle's just happened to both get for Christmas.

Today we watched the left behind movies 1 and 2 and played a little apples to apples with some of the youth group.
Oh, one more interesting thing I just did...
deleted 1111 spam e-mails in my gmail spam folder!!!

Yesterday our family went to see Philip sing in hi choir event. I don't exactly know what it was called, but we had to be coat checkers to get into the event free. This I really didn't mind, it wasn't that hard and besides that we (me and Benjamin) got tipped by most of the people. That was pretty nice since I thought we were only "volunteering" and even remarked to Benjamin before we went that they should be paying us for how much the tickets costed (almost $20 each ticket). Anyway, it was a good show, all the choirs sounded really good. But, even then I told Benjamin; "put our choir up there (meaning our homeschool choir; "the show choir" ) and we'd blow the socks off all of them." I was somewhat kidding, but our choir does have the advantage of having a base section (I'm in that part, and we're only the best in our choir! :D ). Anyway, the Young Voices choirs really did well, unfortunatly they were deprived of having any base sections except when the alumni choir joined in, which wasn't a problem, except that I happen to really like that.
We went to wendys afterwards with our family. It was a good thing too since I hadn't had dinner and it was nearly 8:30.
Well, today we're going to see Chandler's sister get married, and right now the house is empty, so I'm really wondering where my Mom took Sarah and Philip.. anyway,

Narnia Thoughts

Well, this movie is really a winner. The graphics and music,
lemme tell ya. Makes me cry.
At first I had concerns whether they were going to do the talking animals right, but I was really impressed the way the expressions, mouth movments, and body movements were made believable in the movie. Not to mention the expressive and beautiful expressions and great voice of Aslan the lion.
There were a few things I wish they had stuck with the book on. But all in all they didn't mess up the plot too badly. A few parts were not as impressive as I would have hoped for, Peter's fighting and the queen's power weren't quite as powerful and astounding as I thought they would be.
I'd give this movie 4 stars out of five and definitly a must see.

Update and stuff

Update?

Well this week I've been with our youth group almost every other day. First we had Sunday school and sunday night youth group meeting. Then on Monday most of us went to the Operation Christmas Child event. Next, on Thursday most of us were again at AWANA helping out as leaders. And finally, the youth Christmas party and caroling event last night.
Anyway, that was all quite fun. Today, after sleeping in till 11:30 I went and finished my Christmas shopping with Benjamin and got something for the munchkins. :D

well thats all for now.(and tomorrow I see the youth group again twice.)

The Sat and Christmas

Ok, So here's all the stuff I did
in the last two days.

So last saturday I woke up to go take the SAT...
AT 6:30!! then we got there a half an hour early, so I had to stand around for a half an hour waiting. I finally got to take the test. There were quite a bit of people there. They put us into two different rooms depending on what our last names were and we took the test, taking the next five hours or so of my life answering dumb questions and fixing sentances. We got two five minute breaks and one one minute break. So after I went to get my brain removed. I went with my mom to clean the church for an hour which we couldn't finish becuase the other church came to have their service (we also share the building with a korean church, on sundays, and a russian church, on saturdays). Then I came home for about a half of an hour.although I couldn't be sure becuase my brain is now warped beyond repair from the merciless wrenching of information from it) Then I went to the Christmas program our homeschool group puts on and sang for people in the "Show Choir". That was pretty fun. We sang two songs, "sleigh ride" and "little drummer boy".

Yesterday our church had potluck, so after sunday school and choir practice we had a scrumptious lucullan potluck. Afterwards Max's parents somehow decided that max would be coming to our house for some reason, even though we weren't planning on going home that day (we were planning on staying at church till youth group that night). So we completely filled the church's van with everyone we had to take home that my dad had already picked up, plus Max, Sergey, and their cousin. After at least an hour, we got home. and immediatly left, leaving them to be picked up by their parents. After a good night of toilet paper dodge ball and practicing for Christmas caroling with the youth group, my dad finds out that there is a guy that we dropped off at somone else's house that needs a ride to his house. So, we take a one hour-45 minute detour and take him home and finally get home at about ten.

Today I'll be helping out at the "Operation Christmas Child" unpacking boxes and repacking to make sure the silly uneducated people didn't pack any thing dumb like guns, razors, spillable items, or any chocolate.

*sigh* life in the city....
Oh well, it's not all bad. I don't mind being really busy too much. At least I'm not bored (as I type this I'm thinking to myself; "I wish I had time to be bored!")

What is this? An update?!

Ok, so this weekend I'll be taking the SAT so I'm spending all week studying up for it.
I have finally decided (pretty much anyway) what college I'm going to. I'll probably be going to Master's college. Now before you ask what I know is on the tip of your tongue. No.
I haven't decided my major yet. I have an idea, but I'm not completely sure yet. When I am I'll post something or maybe put up a giant banner visible from space or something.

As for today, just school. I get to substitute for my piano teacher tonight though. That's kind of cool. I can use the extra money. Oh, and since I know your all wondering.
I am taking donations towards a laptop for college. And tuition :)

Thanksgiving

For thanksgiving this year we had school off for one day before and one day after thanksgiving (besides thanksgiving and saturday/sunday). So on thanksgiving we went to my grandma's house and ate there. then watched the Broncos beat the Cowboys by a smidgion. Then we rented and watched Herbie Reloaded. It was cheesy, of course, just like all the other movies but still kind of funny and nice (like the other ones). This newer movie had a few things that shouldn't have been in it, as usual, like the girl completely lying and disobeying her dad. Although I expected it from something made these days.
Anyway, this really was quite a delightful and relaxing holiday week where I stayed up till at least 2:00 (almost three last night) every night and got to sleep in!

November 17th

Well, two days ago I faxed my application to Master's College.
Hope they like it!

I can't think of anything else thats happening, but today I'll be teaching piano, taking piano lesson, and helping at awana. Then tomorrow me and Benjamin are debating again. Oh what fun! We will probably be the negative side this time, so that'll be fun.

Don't have much to write this time, so here's a joke for y'all.

A mother wanted to teach her daughter a moral lesson. She gave the little girl a quarter and a dollar for church. "Put whichever one you want in the collection plate and keep the other for yourself," she told the girl.

Sunday, when they were coming out of the church, the mother asked her daughter which amount she had given.

"Well," said the little girl, "I was going to give the dollar, but just before the collection the preacher said that God loves a cheerful giver. I knew I'd be a lot more cheerful if I gave the quarter, so I did."

Wycliff dinner

So, I just got back from a little dinner at a hotel hosted by Wycliff Bible translators. It was pretty cool. Sebastian was there too with his parents. We sat at a different table. They had good coffee. Anyway, it sounded really neat, and is getting me thinking about going into Bible translating. Just a thought, but it definitly sounds like something really cool to do, something I would enjoy doing.
Just a thought though. Anyway, thats about all. I really need to get working on debate stuff more. I'm probably going to quit speech after we finish the humourus interpretive speeches (i'm really looking forward to those) so I can put more hours into debate research, and building a case.

That reminds me, I have some speech homework to do. Hmmmm, which to do first speech or debate, speech or debate.

This weekend I went with my youth group to an overnight event called turkey twilight. I have taken the liberty of linking to Chandler's blog since he already wrote pretty much everything that we/I did there.

The first few games I tried to be competitave, but never actually won any games, even though I got pretty close.
The last few games me and max would go crazy bowling where we would try out of many different methods, "granny bowling" where we take the bowling ball with two hands and bowl it either directly in front of us or underneath the legs. That was really fun. Especially becuase I could do somewhat well that way too.

November 7th

Well, Yesterday was my birthday. I was pleasantly suprised by a breakfast in bed and a giant king size candy bar.
Later that morning I went with my dad to Home Depot, Then I was taken to Bojou's (sp?) Pizza with him. I had forgotten how good their pizza was. After that we went to Office Max and just looked around and talked for a good long time that was really fun, then we went to walmart and my dad bought my gifts. He said that its just a whole lot easier if I pick out my gifts myself, and he said it is the same with him becuase he likes a certain kind or whatnot.
Then we came home and had cake and my grandparents were over. Then I opened gifts and got a Starbucks gift card, headphones, a pocket digital radio, oh and i got two very nice cards from Sarah and Philip. Philip also got me a Sobe. It was a great day. Well now I'm 18 and they can draft me lol. Doesn't feel much different.
Oh well. And in case you're wondering, NO I did not buy any cigars or lottery tickets.

Today and Yesterday

Well I'll start with (eeny meeny miney moe) yesterday's activities and then tell about today's.
Yesterday I had piano lessons as usual. Then at the end alexis, my piano teachers' dog, puked right in front of us. It smelled really bad. Then I worked on the teaching schedules entering new clients and lesson times and such. Couldn't figure out how chandler printed it the way it was laid out on the old schedule, and I had to go start teaching anyway so Chandler went and printed it while somone else took over his teaching during their lesson. I assume Mary Ann made up for stacey's lesson. That's who finished teaching the person Chandler was teaching at that moment.
So that was pretty interesting.
Then I had to give an eight extra "makeup" minutes for my first student becuase we started late two weeks ago. That worked out ok, except I had to make the other lessons go two minutes late since he didn't come eight minutes early. Then Ryan came (another student of mine, who happens to be my most "hyper" student). Lucky for me I think last night was probably his most cooperative lesson so far.
After all that, I went and helped out at awana. That went pretty well. The kids were pretty good (at least on green team).

Today
Today my family went to our friday classes. I went to choir where we had to sing a song without music. And it wasn't a song where we had ever seen music for, so that was pretty hard. Then we got to do my favorite song though, that was fun. We also had speech, where we are working on interperative speeches. I say we because Benjamin is in speech and debate. Then we went to debate and that was good. Our debate teacher didn't come till quite a bit later so some of us started early. Two of the girls in the class started debating and I was time keeper. Unfortunatly (for the debate round we had started) one of the moms came and had us start doing book work and broke up our debating practice. And we did that till our teacher came.
We are having the mow kids over here for the weekend. So pray for my sanity.

Thats about all. Oh, yes and tomorrow me and Benjamin are going to Chandler's house for Benjamin to build his computer.

Today's events

Well, It's only 10:15 and today has already been quite eventful.
First, my dad finally decided that after eighteen years of maturing I am finally allowed to have headphones. So, in case anyone was planning on getting that mp3 cube for my birthday, don't bother.
Because I decided to buy it :D.
Anyway, a little while after finding that out, we found out that our family barber (more like me and my dad's barber) is quitting for some reason, which really stinks. If I show up in church on sunday with a weird looking haircut that's the reason.

As for future possible events and such. I still haven't figured out what to do for my birthday. I think my brain is stuck in neutral. The next three weekends are pretty much full for me unfortunatly so I guess I have more time to think about it than I did before since my birthday is next week, I'll have a couple more weeks. Anyway, life moves on (unfortunatly sometimes this is not a good thing).
In my opinion it could just slow down a few notches so I'd have more time to do better homework and maybe even write another post for A Sad Tale. Oh well, all wishful thinking unfortunatly (I think I just exeeded the unfortunatly word limit for this post).

This is from a joke list I get, I thought this was pretty good since it happens a lot to me, but I probably do it too sometimes.

A man pacing back and forth glanced at his watch and yelled upstairs to his wife, "Honey, are you ready yet? We're going to be late for the costume party."

Shouting back, the woman replies, "For crying out loud, Ed, I've been telling you for the last half hour that I'll be ready in a minute!"
